ESWATINI PARTICIPATES IN SADC QUALIFICATIONS AUTHORITIES CEO FORUM IN SEYCHELLES
The Eswatini Qualifications Authority (EQA) is participating in the Forum of CEOs of Qualifications Authorities of Member States of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), taking place from 23–25 September 2026 at the Savoy Hotel and Spa in Beau Vallon, Mahé, Seychelles. The Forum is hosted by the Seychelles Qualifications Authority (SQA) and brings together Chief Executives and senior representatives of qualifications authorities from across the SADC Region. The Forum is being held under the theme: “Advancing Trust and Comparability in Qualifications and Qualifications Frameworks in the SADC Region.” Focus on Recognition of Prior Learning and Regional Referencing The first day of the Forum focused on Innovation in Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Regional Referencing. Discussions addressed emerging approaches to RPL, experiences in referencing national qualifications frameworks to the SADC Qualifications Framework (SADCQF), and approaches to strengthening trust and comparability of qualifications across the region. The Executive Secretary of the Eswatini Qualifications Authority, Mboni Dlamini, chaired the proceedings on Day 1, contributing to discussions on strengthening regional cooperation and qualifications systems. Among the key sessions were presentations on country experiences in innovation and flexibility in RPL, lessons emerging from African Continental Qualifications Framework (ACQF) referencing processes, and discussions on strengthening trust and comparability within qualifications frameworks. Strengthening Regional Cooperation The Forum provides an important platform for qualifications authorities across SADC to share experiences, exchange knowledge and identify regional priorities. It also supports strengthened collaboration towards greater recognition, transparency, comparability and mobility of qualifications and skills across SADC Member States. EQA's participation reflects Eswatini's continued commitment to regional and continental initiatives aimed at strengthening qualifications systems, promoting mutual trust and recognition, and supporting the mobility of qualifications and skills across borders. Through its participation in regional platforms such as the SADC Qualifications Authorities CEO Forum, EQA continues to contribute to efforts aimed at building robust, responsive and trusted qualifications systems that support lifelong learning and the development of human capital.
ESWATINI PARTICIPATES IN SADC HIGHER EDUCATION TRANSFORMATION MEETINGS

EQA Participated in the 3rd SADC Qualifications Framework Technical Working Group Workshop
The Eswatini Qualifications Authority (EQA) participated in the 3rd Southern African Development Community Qualifications Framework (SADCQF) Technical Working Group (TWG) Workshop, which was held from 25 to 27 August 2026 in Lusaka, Zambia.
Eswatini Participates in the 7th African Continental Qualifications Framework (ACQF) Forum
The Eswatini Qualifications Authority (EQA) is pleased to update stakeholders on its successful participation in the 7th African Continental Qualifications Framework (ACQF) Forum, held in Nairobi, Kenya, under the theme: "Building Future-Ready Qualifications Systems for Africa."
The SADC Technical Committe on Certification and Accreditation Meeting, 24-25 April 2025
The Eswatini Qualifications Authority attended the SADC Technical Commitee on Certification and Accreditation meeting in Johannesburg, Sandton from the 24-25 April 2025. This is a platform where Member states report on progress made in relation to implementation of National Qualifications Frameworks and related policies and instruments.
National Referencing Committee Meeting
The Eswatini Qualifications Authority (EQA)is in the process of referencing the Eswatini Qualifications Framework (ESQF) to the African Continental Qualifications Framework (ACQF). A national referencing committee, charged with the responsibility of carrying out this activity, has been established and working towards producing the Eswatini report.
3RD ACQF Forum: RPL for Practitioners
The 3rd continental Forum of the institutions of National Qualifications Frameworks", is organised in partnership with the African Union, African Countries, and Regional Economic Communities. this workshop is co- organised with Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) and will take place in Nairobi, from 1 to 4 October 2024, at the Hotel Fairview.
Towards Eswatini RPL Policy and Guidelines: RPL training workshop
This workshop is co-organised by Eswatini Qualifications Authority (EQA) and the ACQF-II project. It gathers representatives from public institutions, education and training community, professional bodies and social partners. The workshop is part of the technical visit to Eswatini, focused on identification and discussion of major features of the future RPL Policy and Guidelines.
