The University - Industry Networking Event under the "University - Industry Co- Creation to build Entrepreneurial universities in the SADC Region (UNIICO-CREATE) Project" was successfully held at the University of Eswatini on 27 May 2026. The event brought together representatives from government, higher education institutions, industry, regulatory bodies, development partners, and other key stakeholders to strengthen collaboration between universities and industry in support of innovation, entrepreneurship, graduate employability and economic transformation. The Eswatini Qualifications Authority (EQA), as one of the key participating stakeholders in the project, re-affirmed its commitment to support efforts in strengthening relevance, quality, and responsiveness of higher education and qualifications to national, regional, and labour market needs.

This 4th ACQF Forum themed: “Micro-credentials for better opportunities” is part of the programme of capacity development, dialogue and peer-to-peer sharing workshops organised by the ACQF-II project in 2024. Other topics addressed in the 4th Forum included referencing of NQFs to ACQF, green skills and the ACQF Qualifications and Credentials Platform (QCP).

The Eswatini Qualifications Authority (EQA) in the Ministry of Education and Training participated in the Groningen Declaration Network (GDN) Conference on the Recognition of Academic and Professional qualifications scheduled from the 7th – 9th October 2024 in San Diego, United States of America.

The Eswatini Qualifications Authority is in the process of referencing the Eswatini Qualifications Framework to the African Continental Qualifications Framework. The activity commenced in September 2024 and a National Referencing Committee is already in place and working. The Committee comprises representatives from all EQA stakeholders such as government ministries, quality assurance bodies, professional bodies, workers and student unions, higher education and TVET institutions.

The EQA held a stakeholder consultative meeting on the Draft RPL Policy on Monday, 13 May 2024, at the Eswatini College of Technology. The purpose of the meeting was to solicit stakeholder input on the draft policy, which has been developed through technical support from the African Continental Qualifications Framework (ACQF) Phase II Project.
