Eswatini Participates in the 7th African Continental Qualifications Framework (ACQF) Forum

The Eswatini Qualifications Authority (EQA) is pleased to update stakeholders on its successful participation in the 7th African Continental Qualifications Framework (ACQF) Forum, held in Nairobi, Kenya, under the theme: "Building Future-Ready Qualifications Systems for Africa."

Eswatini was proudly represented by Gabsile Hlatshwayo and Bongiwe Dlamini , who joined delegates from across Africa, including National Qualifications Authorities, policymakers, education and training institutions, development partners and industry leaders, to strengthen collaboration in advancing qualifications recognition and skills mobility across the continent.

Throughout the three-day Forum, delegates engaged in strategic discussions on strengthening qualifications systems, promoting lifelong learning, enhancing workforce mobility, advancing the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), and ensuring qualifications remain relevant to the evolving needs of industry and the future of work.

A major highlight of the Forum was the launch of the African Continental Qualifications Framework Qualifications and Credentials Platform (QCP), an innovative digital platform designed to improve the transparency, comparability and verification of qualifications across Africa. Delegates also shared experiences on National Qualifications Frameworks (NQFs), Credit Accumulation and Transfer Systems (CATS), Quality Assurance, micro-credentials and the implementation of ACQF Referencing Reports, all aimed at strengthening mutual recognition of qualifications across African countries.

The final day focused on the sustainability and governance of the ACQF Network, with participants discussing the financial, legal and institutional frameworks required to ensure the long-term success of the continental qualification's framework. Delegates reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation among National Qualifications Authorities and advancing a trusted, integrated system that supports learner and worker mobility across Africa.

The Forum concluded with renewed commitment from participating countries to work together in building qualifications systems that are credible, inclusive, transparent and responsive to the needs of learners, employers and economies.

The Eswatini Qualifications Authority extends its appreciation to the Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA), the African Union Commission, the European Training Foundation (ETF) and all partners for successfully hosting this important continental engagement.

EQA remains committed to supporting the implementation of the Eswatini Qualifications Framework (EQF) while strengthening regional and continental collaboration to promote quality-assured, internationally recognised qualifications for the benefit of all Emaswati.
